one step closer to San Francisco

At last I finally purchased my flight tickets! All was well until the moment I was prompted to select my return flight, the heart undertook a distinct thud landing. Heavy feelings predicting the way we both will feel as I step through security, leaving the other half behind in America while I board the plane to England. I just know how it will feel for sunny J. to sit on the public transport without me and I won't feel much happier flying in the wrong direction..

So it took me an infinitely long time to arrange my flights and select which felt like they might be good dates. Difficult. And right at the end United Airlines didn't accept Paypal after all. I did all this research and found their page where they are so proud of offering paypal payment options. Nonsense. It was nowhere to be found when I looked for it. So my poor squealing credit card had to stand in once more.

Now I have my ticket. Finally there is a clear schedule! I will relax as soon as I have booked my travel insurance. The silliest things have the power to stop one from flying. So I would like to be prepared just in case. And taking a trip to America without travel insurance would be pure madness anyway.

Welcome to 90 Days in San Francisco

Wow, it is really happening. I am beginning to get ready for 90 days in San Francisco.

The plan is that I will make one drawing a day, which I will sell in my currently sleepy Etsy shop.

I will also take one photograph each day, for which I am still looking for the best photo hosting and selling site, but you will be able to purchase a print as well as some other goodies in my shop Society 6. (Right now there are just a few older offerings, but I did sell a Yoga print through it only yesterday.)

And the words..? Those will appear here and a selection in my home blog on Over the Seven Seas

To sum it up:
photographs will be uploaded and for sale in Society 6 shop: Over 7 Seas
drawings (originals) shall be posted in my Etsy shop: Over 7 Seas
words will be published here in 90 Days in San Francisco & on my home blog Over the Seven Seas

Over time I will also release postcards in small packs.

This project has several main purposes and hopes. One is to generate a little income to help cover my costs. Another is to open my eyes while I am out in San Francisco and focus on what I see, sharing some of this with you. I give myself the task of writing words to find my voice that has become muddled and fuzzy and half forgotten. Another wish that I have is to connect with you guys, friends, strangers, who are out there. maybe also looking for your journey and future path. I will share some questions with you and perhaps you will have ideas for answers. Or perhaps I can help you out instead?

I would be very happy to respond to your requests, perhaps there is something in San Francisco that you would like a photograph of? I can go and take it. Or perhaps a drawing? Maybe you would just like to read my reflection on something, anything? Don't be shy. Follow this blog, leave me a comment and I will try to respond in photographs, drawings or words.
